Pizza is a Healthier Breakfast than a Cereal According to a Nutritionist

Breakfast!

I’ll take one slice of cheese, please.

If you love starting your morning with a bowl of Raisin Bran or another healthy-sounding cereal, we have some bad news: The majority of cereals are packed with sugar and really aren’t the best way to kickstart your day.

To drive home the point that crunchy and sweet flakes shouldn’t be your go-to breakfast, one nutritionist suggested a surprising replacement for your daily dose of Kellogg’s: a slice of pizza.

Chelsey Amer, MS, RDN, CDN, a nutritionist based in New York, told The Daily Meal that “a slice of pizza contains more fat and much less sugar than most cold cereals, so you will not experience a quick sugar crash.” One cup of Raisin Bran, for example, has 18 grams of sugar (close to the 25 gram daily limit recommendedfor women) and zero healthy fats.

Amer also noted that pizza has more protein than a typical bowl of cereal, so it can satisfy your appetite for longer and prevent snacking between meals. But before you order a personal pie for your breakfast table, it’s important to remember that pizza still isn’t particularly healthy, and you shouldn’t reach for that cheesy goodness on a regular basis. All things considered, it’s just a more balanced option, explained Amer.

If you want a truly nutritious way to start the day, try Greek yogurt with fruit (you’ll score a calcium and protein boost) or oatmeal with cinnamon and fruit, which offers fiber and antioxidants.

“Even a second helping of dinner set aside from the previous night can make a healthy breakfast if it’s chock full of veggies and balanced—for example, a generous portion of veggies sauteed in EVOO with herbs tossed with a lean protein, or chicken breast or lentils with a small scoop of quinoa,” suggests Cynthia Sass, MPH, RD, Health‘s contributing nutrition editor.

Still interested in a little ‘za for breakfast? To make your slice more, well, breakfast-y, try Health‘s recipe for breakfast skillet pizza. It includes high-protein ingredients like eggs and bacon, plus fontina cheese, and then spinach for those vitamin-packed leafy greens. The video above shows you how easy it is to make.

Not interested in parting with your a.m. cereal bowl? Sass says you can still incorporate it into a healthy diet—if you choose the right type of cereal. “A cereal made with whole grains, nuts or seeds, and fruit with organic grass-fed milk or plant-based milk is a better choice over a grease-laden pizza made with processed meat like pepperoni on a white flour crust,” she says.

Artificial Intelligence, Influence on Online Food Ordering and Others

Introduction

As long as humans seek to simplify our lives daily, there’s no doubt that we will continue to explore the many discoveries with Machine intelligence also known as Artificial Intelligence (AI). The ability of a machine to think like humans, analyze situations and propose the best possible solutions is the idea of Artificial Intelligence.

In as much as we seek to make everything in our lives easier by investing into artificial intelligence, we must also think about what gross advancement in that field will do to the unemployment situations in the world. Most people are still reluctant to accept this phenomenon. It is believed that if machines can function as humans then there will be no need to bear the extra cost of hiring more people to do work. Typically when these machines have been programmed to be very efficient and productive.

However as people have their reservations about the topic, it seems that AI has come to stay. In many industries all over the world, we have instances of some form of artificial intelligence to help simplify a process. Even our phones have some form Artificial Intelligence. Apple’s Siri, Google Assistant etc. are one of the closest forms to us.

Artificial Intelligence in the Online Food Industry

According to an article on Tech Emergence, The food service industry is an economic staple generating billions of dollars in annual revenue and representing 2.1 percent of the U.S. GDP in 2016. As a result AI is making its way into this industry.

In Ghana, food ordering apps like Pizarea have inculcated Chabots and other apps that receive customer requests and process these requests into personalised orders. They have also used AI technology to help keep them updated on new orders coming in, orders that have been completed and customers that are yet to be served. It has created a rather efficient way of managing the business. Other companies like JumiaFood and other food delivery companies have also inculcated some form of AI into their business. Currently drones are even being used for delivery.

Outside Ghana, according to Tech Emergence, restaurants are using AI-driven robots to increase capacity and speed of food preparation and delivery. Developers are apparently designing applications which use AI to help consumers choose meals based on their eating preferences. Restaurants are also integrating AI-driven Kiosks to reduce customer waiting time and enhance the customer ordering experience.

Artificial Intelligence in Other Industries

Aside online food ordering, AI is helping a lot in the health sector. There are AI systems that are able to predict up to about 90% whether people will commit suicide or not. In transportation, companies are running trials for driver-less cars. Some companies are also trying to come up with ways to manage roads, such that cars with car-mounted cellphone cameras to snap photos of street conditions to determine which roads are good and which ones need repair according to The Mercury News.

In every sector or industry artificial intelligence has come to stay. Embracing its advantages and possible disadvantages and learning to appreciate what it brings to our present and future is the sure way to go.

Every ethnic group in Ghana has some particular popular local dish that are generic to them. The following represent these groups.

GA Local Dishes

Visit any typical GA neighborhood and there’s no way you wouldn’t find GA Kenkey coupled with hot pepper and fried fish. It’s a favorite of the GA’s and there’s no denying that they are the best at making it. Some restaurants on Pizarea that serve GA Kenkey as a local dish include, H-Street Xpress, Everyone’s Kitchen, Kenkey House and others.

Ashanti Local dishes

Akans in general love their Fufu. Indeed Fufu with any soup either light soup, groundnut soup or Palm nut soup with an ample amount of meat would sound like heaven the ears of an Ashanti. It is also a popular local dish with other ethnic groups. On Pizarea, restaurants like Living Room, Village Bar and African Cho’Bar. They make fufu just like mama made it!

The Fante Local Dish

The Fantes are famous for their Ampesi. I’m no Fante but you could see how I described it as my favorite meal. It’s quite nutritious, complete with a combination of carbohydrates, iron and proteins. This local dish is prominent with other Akans including people from the Eastern Region and Brong Ahafo Region. Klassy Pot and Living Room are restaurants on Pizarea you can get this meal.

The Ewe Local Dish

Akple is the traditional food of the Ewes. It’s made in its own special way served with Ademe. The ewes also love Banku and Okro Stew or Soup. Banku and Okro Stew is a popular local dish with other ethnic groups in the country. It’s a very popular menu item in restaurants. Restaurants such as Hajia Apenkwa, Living Room, Everyone’s Kitchen, and Mangoase Restaurant on Pizarea serve this meal.

Northern Local Dishes

Among the three northern regions, the most popular local dish beloved by all is Tuozaafi and Ayoyo. There’s also Tubaani served in the Upper West Region of the country. It has become a local favorite! Even in the capital Accra, more and more restaurants keep adding it to their menus. Restaurants like Hajia Apenkwa serve Tuozaafi.

Among others, people love Waakye, Jollof, Aprapransa, Acheke etc… These meals cut across the various ethnic groups. However the great thing about Ghanaians is their willingness to explore. All these meals have become household names in every home!

Different Cuisine Offered by Restaurants in Ghana – Pizarea

We eat from different cuisine offered by different restaurants in Ghana. We have certainly marked some of these restaurants as our favourite either for the type of atmosphere they provide or how great their food is. But generally speaking, what is a cuisine?

According to Wikipedia, a cuisine is specific set of cooking traditions and practices, often associated with a specific culture or region. That is to say the preparation, setting, additions to a meal may depend on where the food originates from. This explains why cuisines are named after where they originate from.

Every country has its own way of preparing meals depending on the type of ingredients available to them, their religious beliefs on what to eat and what to avoid or their cultural beliefs. There are cuisines that can be deemed regional. They are specific to particular regions in the world. For instance we have African, Asian, European, Oceanic Cuisine; all these are specific to the continents in the world.

SPECIFIC CUISINES FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES

Every country has its own cuisine associated to it. However in every country, restaurants offer the most famous cuisines worldwide as part of their menus. Most of these meals have become popular as a result of the countries they are from, how different they taste or how they even look. These cuisines have been listed below:

Even in Ghana, restaurants on Pizarea including Noble House Chinese Restaurant, Sweet Roses, Imperial Peking Chinese Restaurant and Palace Chinese Restaurants etc. offer Chinese cuisine. These restaurants are owned by Chinese people. It’s amazing though to see that restaurants that are not necessarily Chinese restaurants have adopted Chinese cuisine as part of their menus.
